Biden launches effort to remove items from Baybees site

On Tuesday afternoon, Attorney General Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III ordered Delaware Department of Justice personnel to begin removing and storing certain items from the outside of Dr. Earl Bradley’s Baybees pediatric office in Lewes. The items, which were removed on Feb. 16 with the assistance of Delaware State Police troopers and DelDOT staff, include signage and yard toys displayed on the property.

“The community should not be faced with the visual reminder of their pain as they go about their daily lives,” Biden said. “We hope that removing these outward displays promoting Dr. Bradley’s practice, including toys, figurines, vehicles, a lighted sign and billboard, is a small step in helping the Lewes community begin the healing process.”

The removal and storage of items from the Baybees property was completed Wednesday, Feb. 17. The Attorney General initiated this action with the agreement of Bradley’s legal counsel, the office said.

The Delaware Department of Justice continues to provide services for victims and their families in this case. Parents or caregivers of current or former patients should call the Delaware Department of Justice Lewes community office at (302) 645-4010 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays to request a copy of their child’s pediatric file.

Parents can also visit the office at 105 W. 4th Street to share information about the investigation and to be connected with counseling and other services that are available.

Individuals who have information to provide in this case are being urged to call Delaware State Police detectives at (302) 856-5850, ext. 216. Parents of patients or former patients of Bradley, regardless of the age or gender of the child, are being asked to come forward.
